Who's Insurance covers home phototherapy and what insurance covers it?

I am taking this poll because I have Kaiser and they will not help out with the costs of a home phototherapy unit. Does anyone have any experience with Kaiser and if not, any other insurance company that covers it? How about a company that sells phototherapy home units that offer special discounts and/or payment plans? Thanks in advance!

    I have Kaiser, GA.  they cover in-office treatment at facility, but NOT for home therapy units.

    I have Kaiser in Woodland Hills, CA. Same as julybaby, they cover in-house treatment but do not cover home therapy units. Their notion (according to my dermatologist) is that they don't feel they should pay for a private home unit, when we are perfectly able to get treatment at their office. It is BS if you ask me. Especially if you are someone, like myself, that only has particular areas of the body (such as genital, scalp ears) that need the UV treatment that --guess what--wouldn't be reached with their units! I am looking into filing a grievance with Kaiser about this, but probably will have no luck (david and goliath gives me inspiration!).

    The specific unit I am looking into is called the "dermapal" and is made by "Daavlin." I have spoken to their representative and she informed me Kaiser has never been known to pay. I am working on negotiating with her a better price, given that I will be getting no help from them and she so far has offered a 15% discount. I will keep trying to negotiate though since 15% is nothing on a $650 product.

    Does anyone know of any products that are similar or the same as this product? http://www.daavlin.com/TPage144.aspx If so, please post! I will post any news or information regarding my insurance adventure here!

    We here in pakistan dont enjoy the luxury to have health insurances which cover treatments other than cancer or heart deaseses. Beside photothearpy is still a new thing

    Annie... I've recently heard of another company with a product that I think is similar to Daavlin. Although I am not a patient of psoriasis, I have loved ones that are and I want to learn more (hence the reason I am on the site!). The unit is called Levia. I think they have a website... ? Good luck! Let me know if you have any luck or have found an alternative already!
